Poclie in Roswell are reporting residents are receiving scam phone calls in which the caller claims to be an officer of RPD or another local law enforcement agency and asks for a money order to be sent to him to take care of a bond on the local resident. The caller may even offer to reduce the bond amount. These calls are fraudulent. RPD and other police agencies do not call people for payment of bonds. Officers never ask for money in any form and bonds are determined by judges and handled through the courts.
