Roswell Adult Center Relocating Some Classes, Events

As a result of a staffing shortage, the Roswell Adult Center will be limited to opening one day a week as of Sept. 6, but scheduled classes throughout each week will still take place using other sites.

The Adult Center (807 N. Missouri Ave.) will be open Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering its regular activities such as pool (billiards) and dominoes. The lapidary class has been rescheduled to take place during those Wednesday hours as well.

Meanwhile, the video walking, aerobics and cardio exercise classes will take place as scheduled, but be relocated to the Roswell Recreation and Aquatic Center (1402 W. College
Blvd.), which will also offer dominoes during its regular hours of operation (Monday-Friday 6 a.m.-8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Sunday noon-8 p.m.). The open-studio painting class has been moved to the Roswell Museum and Art Center (1011 N. Richardson Ave.).

The “Oldies Dance” originally scheduled for Sept. 18 will remain at the Adult Center, but the date has been changed to Sept. 17.

The Wednesday-only hours for the Adult Center are expected to continue until the end of the year when the staffing situation will be re-evaluated.

For more information and to confirm details about class and activity days, times, locations and costs, people can call the Adult Center at 624-6718 before Sept. 6 and the Recreation and Aquatic Center at 624-6719 beginning Sept. 6.
