The New Mexico Department of Transportation has announced a long-awaited expansion of US Highway 82 from Artesia to Maljamar is complete. The 60-million dollar project is finally complete after four years… almost twice as long as it was slated to last at the beginning of the work. There remains some cleanup work to do, but the last 30 mile section is now open to full traffic.
