Tragedy in Carlsbade, where authorities confirm a young boy has died of an overdose of the powerful opiate fentanyl. The mother of the 12 year -old boy has been arrested. Alexis Lee Smith, along with the boy’s grandmother Kellie SMith, were arrested in connection to the death of Brent Sulivan. The New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department investigated and said the grandmother has admitted she knew the boy wa singesting the fentanyl.
Kellie Smith has a previous arrest last year after poclie said another one of her grandchildren tested positive for meth.
