A Hobbs mother has been captured after police say she was seen on surveillance video throwing her newborn baby in a trash dumpster behind a business – and then leaving the scene. The discovery was made behind buildings in the 1400 block of North Thorp in Hobbs Friday night. 18 year old Alexis Avila has reportedly confessed to placing the baby in a blakc trash bag and then throwing it in the trash dumpster. Avile is due in court for an arraignment hearing today. SHe’s charged with child abuse and attempted murder.
