Eddy County Finance Director Roberta Smith recently told county leaders that the county’s finances are in good shape. In fact, Smith said that Eddy County appears to be on the path to a 45 million dollar budget surplus at the end of the fiscal year on June 30th. The county has surpassed budgeted cpollections in two big areas… oil and gas production and equipment… and gross recepits taxes.
