Roswell Man Confesses To Cold Case Murder

A Roswell man was arrested and charged with first-degree murder after he confessed Monday afternoon to killing another local man more than 14 years ago. The man then told police where he had buried the body of the victim, and police soon after discovered the victim’s remains. 37 year old Tony Ray Peralta was jailed early Tuesday after he called 911 earlier on Monday and told a dispatcher that he had killed someone. The victim was determined to be 69 year old William Blodgett, who had been reported missing in January of 2009 after his family could not get a hold of him for days. RPD says Blodgett had tried to evict Peralta, who had been renting a room in Blodgett’s home. Polcie then obtained a search warrant for Blodgett’s home and found his skeletal remains under plywood floorboards.
