The Artesia City Council has approved new procedures to comply with public records inspection. On Tuesday, the city council took up the vote to bring the city into compliance with stricter regulations. The Inspection of Public Records Act also provides for stiffer penalties for failing to comply. The council also instituted new usage fees for the Artesia Center, including a 750-dollar per day rental fee requiring a deposit of 500-dollars, non refundable, if the city must use it’s own employees for set up and clean up. The Jaycee Park soccer and football field rentals will now be 500-dollars per day, with a refundable deposit of a thousand dollars. Rent for single fields will be 50-dollars per day.
