Man Arrested For October Fatal Shooting In Roswell

A Roswell man has been arrested for murder in the Oct. 22 shooting death of another local man. Police arrested Carlos Archuleta, 49, shortly before 5:30 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 16).
Archuleta is accused of shooting Corey Adam Deck, 33. An arrest warrant

was issued Wednesday (Nov. 15) for Archuleta, charging him with second-degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm. He was arrested Thursday after RPD learned of his potential location and took him into custody during a traffic stop in the area of Union Avenue and Poe Street in southwest Roswell.

Police were called to the 300 block of East Deming Street about noon on Oct. 22 for a report of shots being fired. Officers found Deck in the backyard of a residence in that block. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was deceased.

Numerous people were in the yard and in residences and buildings on the property when the shooting occurred. Through the RPD investigation, it was learned Archuleta and Deck had been having ongoing issues with each other and had previous verbal and physical altercations.
