Sitting Bulls Falls Closed Due To Staffing Shortages

Effective immediately, Sitting Bull Falls Recreation Area, a historic recreation site in the Guadalupe Ranger District in the Lincoln National Forest – will be closed at the access point due to ongoing staffing shortages. The Lincoln National Forest is currently looking into solutions to fully staff the recreation site, and quickly enforce a plan that will allow the site to reopen. The site will be monitored during this closure.

Jennifer Thomas, the District Ranger for the Guadalupe Ranger District, says they have exhausted all avenues to keep the Sitting Bull Falls Recreation Area open. In order to prevent safety and health issues, she says the must temporarily limit access to the falls.
