Four Airlines Compete For Carlsbad Commercial Air Contract

New flights could bring a big boost to southeast New Mexico. Three airlines are bidding for a contract with the Carlsbad City Council. The contract is with Advance Air right now, but that ends by the end of this year. Advance was chosen in 2023 for an 11 million dollar, two-year contract. But now Boutique Air, which lost the bid two years ago, is proposing flights between Carlsbad and Dallas, instead of Phoenix. One of the other airlines that is bidding is Countour. SkyWest is the third.
