The Roswell Fire Department now has a Light Medium Tactical Vehicle (LMTV) that will enhance RFD’s response to incidents requiring water rescue. The LMTV is a durable, high-water-capable transport and rescue vehicle. Its ability to navigate flooded roadways, carry equipment and personnel, and support rescue operations makes it a vital asset during flood or swift-water incidents.
The LMTV was purchased for RFD by the New Mexico Self-Insurers’ Fund, which identified the LMTV as a piece of equipment that would provide RFD with needed rescue capabilities for water-related emergency incidents. Its design allows it to access areas that traditional apparatus cannot reach, especially during flooding events, swift-water incidents, or other severe weather emergencies.
