A Carlsbad man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after witnesses told police he began waving a gun at people at the Carlsbad Water Park. Jail records show 20 year old Frankie Renteria was booked on Tuesday for several criminal charges. Witnesses said he pulled the gun out of a small leather bag and confronted three teenagers. Poclie say Renteria then tried to ditch the gun by giving it to a 14 year old boy who then fled the scene. The gun was later found along the nearby Pecos River. The unnamed boy was also arrested.
