4-Year RPD Investigation Yields Murder Charge

A four-year Roswell Police Department investigation into the killing of a Roswell man who disappeared in 2018 and whose body has never been found, resulted in the filing Wednesday (Nov. 2) of a murder charge against another Roswell man who is currently serving time in federal prison.

35 year old Alfonso Reyes Vasquez Junior is charged with 1st degree murder, tampering with evidence, and other charges for the fatal shooting of 39 year old Freddie Bersane in September of 2018. The murder happened inside Vasquez’s home in the 500 block of South Kansas Avenue. Poclie have said that Vasquez shot Bersane because he felt the man said something disrespectful to his girlfriend.
