911 Dispatcher Protocols Changing

The Pecos Valley Regional Communications Center is implementing new striuctured call-taking protocols in answering emergency calls. The new protocols begin today for fire and EMS calls. It will start this summer for law enforcement. A statement from the city of Roswell says this will enable dispatchers to accurately assess each emergency situation and send the best response possible, while safeguarding valuable and limited emergency-service responses and increasing safety for both citizens and first responders.
